So, here's what I've made so far this weekend...and I have more projects in the works!
These big tissue paper pom poms just make me happy. They look like big flowers and will be hung from the ceiling somewhere in my classroom. I was surprised at how simple they were to make. Click here for directions. I have also seen kits for making them at Michaels and Party City...but that's no fun! Choose whatever colors of tissue paper you like and make your own.
Click here for directions on how to make this darling caterpillar. I found inexpensive paper lanterns at Party City, and just used some colored cardstock I happened to already have at home to make his face. The eyes and nose glued on very well with a little modge podge (I would have used my hot glue gun but it's packed away at school!).
I'll have to do another post next week on the rest of my craft projects. Please share what projects you have been working on for your classroom!
Oh, my gosh! That caterpillar has GOT to be the cutest thing!!

Love the caterpillar. I saw one made of out of those tissue paper balls on a pinterest pin. We aren't allowed to hang stuff from the ceiling which made me sad when I saw the caterpillar bc I'm doing Eric Carle for my theme this year.
ReplyDeleteThe caterpillar would be perfect for your theme Kerri! Maybe you could tape it to the top of a shelf? There must be some way to get around that rule!
ReplyDeleteI loooooooooooooooove those tissue paper flowers!! I had found directions on how to make these lace doily balls and I was going to do that this summer... but suddenly it's 2 days away from August and your flowers are looking perfect!! :)
ReplyDeleteMarvelous Multiagers!
Jill-I made 4 tissue paper flowers in 30 minutes- a totally quick craft! Roughly 5 minutes a flower-the first one took longer since I was still trying to figure the directions out!
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with your hungry caterpillar!!!! I mean LOVE :) The Very Hungry Caterpillar is my most favorite book!! You just made my day-once again, love it :)
